The Month of August
August starts with Venus ingressing into Cancer on Thursday the 31st of July heading towards a conjunction to Jupiter, but first she has to honor an appointment with Saturn and Neptune through square aspects on Friday. Love can be experienced through sacrifice.
There’s a stoical acceptance of the real world limitations of romantic ideals and dreams. The coming Venus-Jupiter conjunction should help to revive some hope, faith and joyousness.
Retrograde Mercury arrives at a conjunction with the Sun at 9º of Leo. Official announcements and authoritative statements are made. An intentional and purposeful articulation of ideas, views and opinions takes place. This will be especially significant if you have important planets located around 9º of the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius).
The Full Moon of August
At the time of the Full Moon on the 9th of August the Sun and Moon will both be forming 45 degree multiple aspects to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, once again bringing that important longer term process into sharper focus.
This is further emphasised by the fact that Mars gets involved on the weekend of 9-10 August, forming a potent opposition to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction. This looks like an intense effort that is somehow bogged down by circumstances or factors that are difficult to discern and identify. Initiatives may lack follow through.
Mars is all over the show during the weekend of 9-10 August Not only is there the conspicuous opposition of Mars to Saturn and Neptune, Mars is also trine both Uranus and Pluto! This is very impatient and lively energy that wants to break out and break free.
Mercury turns Direct on the 11th of August while at 4 degrees Leo and Mars reaches a sextile aspect to this stationing Mercury during the second half of the week. This aspect will remain in place till around the 20th of August, making for vigorous mental energy and frank and forthright communication. The energy is sharp, alert and efficient.
As mentioned in the previous week, Mercury and Mars remain locked in a sextile aspect during the first half of this week indicating general busyness and rapid and skillful execution of plans.
The New Moon on Saturday the 23rd of August occurs at 0 degrees Virgo and forms a tight square to Uranus at 1 degree Gemini This is another restless and high energy configuration that suggests events occur very suddenly and take people by surprise. The status quo is emphatically defied or resisted.
In fact Jupiter at this time is about 45 degrees from both ends of this square between Sun-Moon and Uranus; so Júpiter is close to the midpoint of this square This could be “lucky” and it hints at na optimistic and adventurous energy, enthusiastic about new novel ideas and concepts. There’s a desire to break free rigid social patterns and explore new vistas, physically, mentally and spiritually.
Early in the week Venus forms a series of notable aspects: a trine to Saturn and Neptune, a sextile to Uranus, and an opposition to Pluto Friendships and personal relationships undergo a phase of deepened intensity Boundaries, obligations and expectations in relationships become a matter that needs clarifying and adjusting.
On Monday the 25th of August Mercury will be sesquiquadrate the Saturn-Neptune conjunction, so the tone of discussion is somewhat serious and deep, or there may even be avoidance and evasion of communication The fact that Mercury at this time is also semi-sextile Jupiter does hint that there is some element of sincerity and authentic goodwill in discussions and agreements that are entered into, but thoroughness could be lacking Fine-print may be ignored or overlooked.
